Just hold it right there!

If you want to put a legal hold on files wherever they are without shipping them into a special repository then Kazeon's later version of its indexing Information Server can do just that.
V3.1 of the IS1200-ECS can now carry out in-place legal holds preventing files deemed relevant to a legal discovery request from being modified, and tracking their use. It can also collect files from desktop and notebook computers and put them into a repository if that's your preference. Symantec Enterprise Vault, other enterprise content management repositories (siilos) and write-once-read-many (WORM) disk storage from EMC, Data Domain and NetApp is supported for this.
Kazeon says this product is useful for proactive as well as reactive eDiscovery. That's a great marketing pitch because if you're being proactive in eDiscovering documents, presentations, files, whatever, then of course you need to proactively discover everything. Better buy the biggest Kazeon box you can. This seems like an ideal product for nervous enterprise legal departments.
The revved product doesn't need agent software on networked notebooks and desktops from which it collects information in its eDiscovery mining efforts.
