Vendor recruits over 50 people across EMEA and opens first office in Scandinavia

London, UK – 20th August 2008 – Acronis, a storage management and disaster recovery software vendor, today announced the opening of its first office in Scandinavia in a move that marks the company’s aggressive plans for growth in Europe.

Since establishing its UK operations in Chiswick in January 2007, the company has recruited over 50 people in EMEA in response to demand for its backup, recovery, migration and deployment software products. One of the key appointments has been Henrik Jalsborn as director of sales for Scandinavia. Jalsborn was initially based in the UK offices, but has now relocated to Sweden to head up Acronis’ operations across Scandinavia. He joins Acronis from CMS peripherals which now distribute Acronis products in the UK. He was also previously at CA.

“We have rapidly developed our European operations and now have seven sales offices across Europe,” Kevin Moreau, general manager UK and Ireland said. “We have a 100% channel-focused model and now have a team of 13 people specifically dedicated to our UK and Ireland Channel partners.”

“There is already strong demand for our corporate Acronis True Image software in Scandinavia. Having a local presence will be critical in boosting sales, supporting the channel and providing the best service for our customers,” said Henrik Jalsborn, director of sales for Scandinavia.

He continued, “I joined Acronis because there is a very significant opportunity in the market for strong products which go one step beyond traditional backup products and provide full system recovery of applications and servers. We support what a lot of resellers are already talking to their customers about. This is fuelled further by recent trends such as migration to virtual environments and the opportunity which upcoming growth in OS migrations to Vista and Server 2008 presents.”
