Storm clouds: MobileMe down again; Gmail crashes too

Cloud services proving flaky
Apple's MobileMe iPhone-Mac synchronization service crashed again on Monday and Google's Gmail fell over as well.
The Googlers got service back in two and a half hours and had a nice apology from a Google staffer, which said we feel your pain.
The MobileMe brigade were cross, as this was yet another outage, and it took seven and a half hours to fix. One MobileMe user threatened the unthinkable; a return to Microsoft's Outlook. Things must be bad.
