Portable hard drive drop tests
Popular Mechanics magazine ran some portable hard drive drop tests with four drives. The Iomega ruggedized eGo Camo (pictured below) reigned supreme surviving a 15 foot fall onto concrete and then being run over by a truck tire.
Next best was a La Cie 250GB ruggedized all-terrain drive. Third and fourth were Western Digital's 250GB Passport and Iomega's (non-ruggedized) 250GB eGO. All did better than their stated drop test survivability height though. See the enjoyable video here.
