Dell doubles notebook SSD size

Dell is doubling its notebook solid state drive (SSD) capacity to 128GB.
The company's Flash Ultra Performance SSD, based on Samsung's SATA II SSD technology, was available in 32GB and 64GB capacities. It's now going to be offered in 128GB form as an option on some Latitude and Precision notebooks. Next week it will apparently be offered on Dell's Alienware and XPS models as well.
The Latitude tablet pictured above can have a 64GB SSD.
There has been an effective price cut as the $649 which the 64GB SSD used to cost will now buy you 128GB.
Dell is confident that the SSDs deliver better shock resistance than hard disk drives (no dispute there), more reliability (okay), and better performance.
Lenovo is also increasing its SSD options for notebook products.
