15 July 2008: Overland Storage has signed up storage distribution specialist Horizon Data Management to enhance its current partner line-up.

A major player in the storage market, the new deal will see Horizon work with the UK channel to distribute Overland’s entire range of tape and disk storage solutions.

To complement the company’s current offerings, Horizon will add Overland’s NEO and ARCvault tape libraries, REO disk-based backup appliances with VTL capabilities, and ULTAMUS RAID high-performance, high-density storage, to its range. As data deduplication continues to be a hot topic for IT professionals, Horizon has a strong proposition in Overland’s REO9500D deduplicating VTL appliance that enables easier access to stored data, faster restores and longer-term, near-line retention of backup data.

As an Overland partner, Horizon will also benefit from Overland’s recently launched rebate scheme for disk and tape sales, and a loyalty points scheme aimed at further incentivising both distributors and resellers.
