A bit and in the first half of 2008 that is

Ars Technica - I guess Blocks and Files could be called Ars Storage - has a report that both DVD and Blu-ray sales rose a smidgin in the first half of this year. That means no Blu-ray hike and no DVD fall - yet.

The data comes from Home Media Magazine which found that Home Media found that there were $6.8 billion worth of DVD + Blu-ray sales in the first half of 2007 compared to $6.87 billion in the first half of this year.

A Hollywood Reporter story  says pretty much the same thing.

It appears that DVD sales are not getting crucified by file sharing.

More here.
