Apple of Zmanda's eye

Smart and zippy open source backup supplier Zmanda says its custumers can remotely control Zmanda backup software using the smart and zippy new 3G iPhone.
This hugely trendy device is now a walking, talking computer. It can support secure virtual private network functionality enabling Zmanda-responsible Sysadms to start backups, run restores and get backup job status reports on their iPhone's screen.
Ann Ruckstuhl, Zmanda VP and chief technology evangelist, said: “(The) introduction of the Apple 3G iPhone will make it much easier for system administrators to respond quickly to backup and recovery requests, even when they´re not near a computer.”
The thing is, iPhone users are near a computer, very near, because that's what the iPhone is. The iPhone could mean you're iWorking when you're not supposed to be working at all.
You are in danger of never being away from work with an iPhone, just like the Blackberry which has spawned a mass of people physically away from work, on holiday even, but still tethered to their desks by Crackberry Communications, Inc.
