Overland Storage has made SAS interfaces available for its ARCvault automated tape products and added an LTO-4 half-height drive as well.

The LTO-4 SCSI drives are available for the ARCvault 24 rack-optimized library and ARCvault 48 high-capacity tape library. They and the ARCvault 12 value-line autoloader, can now all be connected via SAS, the Serial-Attached SCSI interface, to servers, as well as by Fibre Channel.

These important enhancements to the ARCvault line provide seamless connectivity to the latest and greatest server technology while also delivering improvements in price/performance to ensure our customers' data protection needs are met effectively and economically."

ARCvault 48 recently garnered a prestigious Editor's Choice award from Storage Magazine, a leading trade magazine in the United Kingdom, being rated superior to the Quantum Scalar 50 and Sun/StorageTek SL500 libraries.

The new ARCvault LTO-4 configurations are available now with a starting MSRP of $5,168.
