In support of this announcement, Sun Microsystems and Astute Networks are demonstrating a high performance, highly scalable ATCA platform at the NXTcomm 2008 show in Las Vegas.

The demonstration is based on Sun’s MySQL™ Cluster database, the world’s most popular open source database, and is implemented utilizing Sun’s market-leading Netra™ CT900 ATCA bladed server chassis, the Astute Networks’ Caspian R1100 Edge Storage Blade, and the Sun Netra CP3260 UltraSPARC® T2 blade server. This solution provides the communication and media industries with a highly scalable, highly available COTS² platform that increases processing capacity, helps reduce costs through consolidation, and provides a platform for future expansion.
