It's amazing what you can find out through Google. For instance, how EMC is spending $5,000 on a golf tournament to help local education.

The Community Advocate, a local newspaper for the Westborough, Northborough, Shrewsbury, Southborough, Marlborough and Hudson areas in central Massachusetts, reports that EMC is the title sponsor of the Corridor Nine Golf Tournament as it has been for the previous couple of years. Corridor Nine refers to the route 9 highway through the region.

Hopkinton, where EMC is based, is in the Corridor Nine area and Lisa Ferdenzi, EMC's director for Global Facilities Planning and North American Real Estate, is a director of the Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce.

The paper reports: "The annual tournament brings the business community together in a fun-filled atmosphere of good-hearted competition to benefit local education. The success of the annual tournament over the past 20 years has resulted in over $300,000 awarded in scholarships to students and grants for teachers in the core towns of Corridor Nine."

Great stuff.
