Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Expands Leadership Team with New Chief Information Officer

SAN JOSE, Calif. - April 28, 2008 Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) today announced the appointment of Craig Haught to the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO).
In his new role, Haught will oversee worldwide IT operations at Hitachi GST and report to Steve Milligan, Chief Financial Officer.
Haught brings two decades of IT and CIO experience working for a range of Fortune 1000 technology companies. Most recently, Haught was vice president and CIO at Cymer, Inc., a San Diego-based semiconductor equipment manufacturer. He also served as CIO, Information Services and Technology at Terastor Corporation, a San Jose-based data storage technology company.
"As a vertically integrated supplier in a manufacturing-intensive industry, Hitachi's worldwide IT operations are a critical component of our global infrastructure," said Steve Milligan, Chief Financial Officer, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. "Craig's knowledge and experience in global operations and management will enable our IT strategy and investments to be a driving force and essential contributor to Hitachi GST's future growth."
Haught has served in IT management roles for large-scale global companies such as Applied Materials and Sun Microsystems. At Applied Materials, he held the position of managing director, Global Information Solutions and Technology. He previously served as a senior director, IT Business and Resource Planning at Sun Microsystems.
Mr. Haught will be based at Hitachi's Cottle Road facility in San Jose, CA.
