Compellent Earns Quality Award for Top Midrange Storage Array from Storage Magazine and Diogenes Labs
posted on 15 April 2008 08:26
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Compellent Technologies, Inc. (NYSE Arca: CML) today announced its storage area network (SAN) received top honors in the midrange array category of the Quality Awards from Storage magazine and Diogenes Labs.
Compellent Storage Center was ranked no. 1 in three out of five end-user survey categories: product features, technical support and sales-force competence.
According to the survey, which was reported in the April 2008 Storage magazine article “Quality Awards III: Compellent shakes up the midrange storage competition,” 100 percent of Compellent end-users would purchase their systems again. In praising Compellent’s product features, customers gave the highest ratings for the SAN’s data backup and recovery technologies, especially remote replication, snapshot and mirroring features, as well as its ability to accommodate rapid data growth.
Commenting in the article on the technical support provided by Compellent’s Copilot support services, Cary Dahl, IT operations manager of Community Health Plan, based in Seattle, said, “Whether you call at 2 a.m. or 2 p.m., they’ve been very responsive.”
“Compellent listens to customers when designing our enterprise storage products,” said Phil Soran, president and CEO, Compellent. “As companies research SAN systems, this ‘for-IT, by-IT’ survey confirms we are putting easy-to-use, advanced features like automated tiered storage and remote replication within reach of all enterprises, and we thank our loyal customer base for their continued support.”
The Quality Awards identify and recognize products that have proven their quality and reliability in actual use. The results for the midrange array category are derived from a survey of qualified Storage magazine readers conducted by Diogenes Analytical Laboratories in five main categories: sales-force competence, product features, initial product quality, product reliability and technical support. The survey ranked midrange storage systems from 15 vendors including Dell, EqualLogic (now owned by Dell), EMC, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi Data Systems, IBM, NetApp and Sun Microsystems.
