IBM and Asustek in patent suit tit-for-tat

Taiwan-based PC, server and motherboard-maker Asustek is sueing IBM for patent infringement in the USA in retailiation for IBM sueing it on similar grounds.
Asustek has filed suit against IBM for using its patents relating to storage on the Internet and technology that turns a PC into a server. The suit has been filed in a San Diego, California court and Asustek wants cash compensation and a cessation order on IBM.
Last year IBM filed a patent infringement suit against Asustek, in a San Francisco court, saying it wanted importation of some Asustek motherboard products into the USA stopped.
Asustek is the world's largest motherboard manufacturer. It makes the popular Eeee micro PC and PlayStation III consoles.
Now we expect serous settlement talks to begin through the lawyer proxies.
