For eDiscovery, DR and storage optimisation

Mimosa and Nexsan have combined their respective archiving software and storage arrays to provide an energy-efficient disk platform for content archiving.

The combined product, Nexsan's Assureon and Mimosa's NearPoint Live Content, offers single-instance information storage with integrity checking and full audit logging. Customers can apply retention and disposition policies to content such as email, instant messaging, and files while providing a free text search index for content related to legal, regulatory, or compliance issues.

Nexsan's Assureon storage uses AutoMAID technology and Intelligent Power Management (IPM) to power down inactive disk drives in steps so as to save power without compromising access speed too much. It also offers a WORM (Write Once Read Many) capability to keep archived informatyion secure and unaltered. Data stored in Assureon is de-duped at the file level to ensure single (file) instance storage.

Mimosa and Nexsan are targeting the specific eDiscovery challenges faced by companies that create and manage ESI (electronically-stored information) technologies and services, including collection, processing, review, retention, and production of evidence necessary to meet legal obligations regarding investigations, litigation, or compliance regulations.
