London, UK, 27th March 2008 – After educating end users and resellers in various cities across EMEA, in 2008 the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Europe Academy will continue to grow with the addition of dates in Paris and London on 15th and 20th May respectively.
The association, together with organisers Angel Business Communications, decided to hold seminars in France and the UK because of the continuing high demand for quality, vendor-independent storage-focussed educational events in these countries. To date the following organisations have confirmed their presence:
- London: 3PAR, Avnet, Atempo, Emulex, HP, IBM, Pillar Data, Quantum and Sun
- Paris: 3PAR, Emulex, and Pillar Data
‘We decided to support the SNIA Europe Academy because of its proven ability to reach quality delegates at local level,’ said Jean-Jacques Effosse, EMEA marketing director at 3PAR. ‘As an innovative utility storage vendor 3PAR is very focussed on educating IT professionals on new technologies and this event is the ideal platform for us.’
To date the Academy has welcomed over 1,500 delegates across Eastern Europe, Italy, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Russia and the United Arab Emirates. Based on core tutorial content from SNIA Europe’s flagship event SNW Europe (www.snweurope.com), it aims to give end users and resellers throughout EMEA the opportunity to further their knowledge of data storage and information management technologies. The upcoming tutorials and presentations given at the Academy cover:
· Implementing data deduplication
· Long-term data archiving
· Developing an archiving and compliance infrastructure
· Trends in data protection - CDP and VTL
· Building a key management strategy for storage security
· The effective use of storage virtualisation
· Updates on networked storage standards – Fibre Channel and Ethernet/IP
Kashif Ali Khan, IT Project Manager at Empost UAE said ‘The SNIA Europe Academy in Dubai was one of the most informative seminars on data storage I ever attended. I would like to congratulate everyone involved in organising a first-rate event; I look forward to the next one’
In the remainder of 2008 the Academy will visit the following cities:
· Copenhagen: 1st April 2008
· Stockholm: 3rd April 2008
· Paris: 15th May 2008
· London: 20th May 2008
· Moscow: 4th June 2008
· Warsaw: September
· Milan: September
‘Investing in knowledge gives a very high return and managers and staff alike understand that today. This is why the SNIA Europe Academy has been attracting high numbers of delegates since it was launched,’ said Matthias Werner, Secretary and Co-chair, Events Committee at SNIA Europe. ‘As a result I can confidently say that the Academy and SNW Europe are now the main independent educational events in the EMEA storage calendar and I am thrilled to add London and Paris to our schedule.’
