Asigra beefs up sales team

Data protection vendor Asigra has strengthened its sales team with senior appointments:-
- Chief Sales Officer, Joseph Jeter, ex-Unisys and Verizon;
- Vice President of Global Alliances, Shannon White, ex-Unisys, HP, Compaq and Texas Instruments;
- Vice President of North American Channels, Don Phillips, ex-Alcatel-Lucent and Nortel;
- Vice President of Government Systems, Jim Powers, ex-EMC.
Asigra CEO, David Farajun, said of the appointments: “We are executing on excellence with today’s announcement of senior executives whose proven track records define them as industry leaders. We are proud to have them on-board to drive sales and marketing initiatives as Asigra lengthens its lead in the space.”
Asigra will extend its global sales organization. There are Asigra offices in the USA and Germany and channel partner representation in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim. Using the new team Asigra will continue expansion in these regions which have demonstrated significant opportunities for growth over the past 12 months.
Tim Stammers, Ovum's storage analyst, said: "2008 promises to be breakout year for enterprise-class information recovery services as a growing number of enterprises outsource their backup processes. Beneficiaries of this will include the service providers, integrators and service oriented backup platform vendors that specialize in the upper end of this market."
The company positions its TeleVaulting products as providing enterprise information recovery management.
