New COO makes his mark
Symantec's new COO, Enrique Salem, has made changes to improve the effectiveness of his organisation.
- The Endpoint Security and Management group absorbs the Altiris business group. - Altiris Business Group head Greg Butterfield (ex Altiris CEO too) stops being its head but will stay on for a few months.
- Security and Compliance Group chief Tom Kendra is going too.
- A new Data Protection Group, led by Deepak Mohan, is formed by combining the Backup Exec and NetBackup organisations.
- A Storage and Availability Management team is led by Rob Soderbery and it now contains the Storage and Server Foundation Groups.
- The Data Loss Prevention team is led by Joseph Ansanelli.
- The Endpoint Virtualisation organisation is headed by Ken Berryman.
- The Information Foundation, Compliance and Security Management team is managed by Francis deSouza.
- The Endpoint Security and Management team is headed up by Brad Kingsbury.
