ThinkPad X300

Lenovo has unveiled its ThinkPad X300 notebook PC, the thinnest and lightest of its type. Key features include:

- An incredibly thin and light profile, measuring less than 1.85cm at its thinnest point, or approximately the height of a 20p coin with a starting weight of 1.33kg

- A number of leading technologies such as solid-state drive storage, a LED backlit display, ultralong battery life and enhanced wireless connectivity

- Innovative features to meet users’ mobile computing needs such as an optional built-in 7-millimeter slim DVD burner, stereo speakers, digital microphone and an integrated camera

- Gold rating by Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT)

The notebook comes equipped with a 1.8-inch 64 GB SSD that provides more than twice the performance of a regular 2.5-inch hard drive.4 With no moving parts, the technology offers more than four times greater shock resistance as well as greater energy efficiency than traditional hard disk drives and contributes to the notebook’s thin and light design.

Here's Windows competition for the Macbook Air.

The ThinkPad X300 notebook price starts from £1,700. It is available immediately through Lenovo business partners.
