Secunet reveals an external hard drive with integrated crypto chip

[Essen, 19 February 2008] The SINA Mobile Disk is an external USB hard drive with an integrated cryptographic processor, touchpad and a display. secunet will present the SINA Mobile Disk for the first time at this year’s CeBIT.

The touchpad allows a PIN authentication independently of a PC. Since it is entered directly into the SINA Mobile Disk, it cannot be intercepted by trojans. The version displayed at CeBIT will have a storage capacity of 60 GB.

• Trojan-proof PIN entry
• Integrity of all data on the hard disk protected by digital signature
• AES 256 Bit encryption

Its compact dimensions make the SINA Mobile Disk a constant companion for anyone who cannot do without confidential data when on the move. All data on the SINA Mobile Disk are protected by AES 256-bit encryption. Each encryption function is performed by the integrated cryptographic processor, ensuring that no time is lost while the data is being read and saved. The inbuilt USB 2.0 interface allows access from any PC. The PC does not require any additional software for the authentication process.

You can find out more about the SINA Mobile Disk and other products and services from secunet at CeBIT 2008, Hall 6, Stand J36.
