Brocade adds EMEA files solutions people

Brocade's push into selling file management products to EMEA customers is evident; it's strengthening its team of people involved. The products form the File Area Network (FAN) portfolio within Brocade's offering and provide dynamic file virtualisation.
Timm Hoyt, Director of File Solutions - Europe, Middle East, Africa, manages the regional team, which now constitutes a separate strategic division within the Brocade organisation. Hoyt was announced as channel sales manager for EMEA and Latin America in February, 2006. He's moved up. His team includes:-
- Pierre Eluere, Sales Manager France and Roman Switzerland;
- Achim Schäfer, Sales Manager DACH [Germany, Austria, and Switzerland];
- Iain Malins, Sales Manager, UK and Nordics.
These managers are supported by the many years of specialist experience of Marco DeLuca, EMEA Lead Solution Architect File Solutions, and Josua Braun, EMEA Marketing Manager File Solutions.
The Brocade team is focused on solving file data management challenges within the EMEA market – from SMBs to Fortune 100 enterprises. A portion of this team is also building an elite community of Value Added Resellers (VARs) to further enhance customer experiences with the Brocade file management portfolio.
The background to this is the growth in unstructured file data. A recent study by the Taneja Group concludes that file management and file services still remain critical strategic elements in planning and expanding computer centers. The report states that the majority of companies expect an increase of more than 50 percent in unstructured file data.
Ulrich Plechschmidt, Brocade's VP for EMEA, said: “By investing in a dedicated team of file management specialists, Brocade is ideally positioned to address the needs of the modern business. Under the leadership of Timm Hoyt, I expect great things from our Files Solutions team and look forward to seeing our EMEA market penetration grow.”
Brocade is an industry leader in the supply of storage area network (SAN) fabric switches and directors and has recently announced a hugher-level data centre switch (DCX). It complements the SAN products with its virtualising FAN products and thus aims to respond to customers' storage needs in both the block and file areas.
