Dot Hill Narrows Expected Range for Quarterly Loss; Lowers Estimated Charges for 2008

CARLSBAD, Calif. (AP) -- Dot Hill Systems Corp., a network storage and data services provider, on Friday narrowed the range on its expected fourth-quarter loss to between 11 and 14 cents per share on revenue of $51 million to $52 million.

The company last month said it expected a loss of 10 cents to 15 cents per share on revenue between $50 million and $52 million.

Analysts polled by Thomson Financial forecast a loss of 12 cents per share on revenue of $50 million. The fourth-quarter estimates do not include potential goodwill impairment.

Dot Hill also said it could take one-time charges of up to $2 million in 2008 under a restructuring and cost savings plan, which also is down from last month's estimate.

The company plans to release final fourth-quarter results on March 13 after the markets close.

Shares of Dot Hill added 5 cents to $3.97 Friday.
