Greenplum gets to petabyte level
posted on 11 February 2008 10:27
Today, (February 11th), open source-powered database developer Greenplum will introduce a new version of its product that will support petabyte-class data warehousing.
The company reckons this will significantly increase the ability of organizations to "convert the current data explosion into business benefits". Oh my, why can't it say that data mining will get broader and deeper so business can, hopefully, make more money through better analysing its data mountains.
On the same day, Greenplum will also detail its use by several Web 2.0 companies that are processing terabytes of raw data for online advertising and web analytics, market research, and fraud detection and prevention.
